Men’s Golf places 5th at Washburn Invitational

TOPEKA, Kan.- The Jets traveled to Topeka to compete in the Washburn Invitational for their fifth tournament of the fall season. The last time out, the Jets shot a team score of 596 through 36 holes at the Newman Fall Invite which secured Newman a second place finish. This time out, the Jets played 54 holes and shot 875 as a team which earned them 5th place.This fifth place finish is the highest finish for the Jets in MIAA Men's Golf play since joining the MIAA. 

Through the first day of play, the Jets shot 582 as a team to secure them 4th place after day one of play. Braxton Muldoon led the Jets on day one after shooting 143 through the two rounds with six birdies. Tomas Asgeirsson was only one stroke behind Muldoon with a 144 on the day and shot five birdies on the day. Chase Martel finished the day tied for 28th after shooting 147. Charlie Townsend was not far behind, shooting a 148 and recording six birdies on the day.

On the final day of play, Martel shot a 72 to snag 22nd place with a total score of 219. Martel was able to record three birdies on the day. Muldoon shot a 75 on the day, with an eagle and a birdie on the day. Asgeirsson and Townsend ended the day both shooting 76. Asgeirsson ended the tournament with a 220, Townsend ended the tournament with a 224. Grant Delsart shot his best 18 of the tournament with a 70 to finish up play with a 225.

The Jets finish up their fall season next week at the Tulsa Cup. The Jets will tee off on October 28th and finish up play on October 29th.
