SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- Women's Basketball traveled to Springfield to compete in the Drury Thanksgiving Classic. The first match up in the tournament, the Jets took on Truman State. The Jets have only faced the Bulldogs once before today's matchup, back in 2017. This time out against Truman State, the Jets fell 80-48.
How it Happened:
- Lioukina started off the Jets with two points under the basket in the first quarter. The Bulldogs answered back with a three.
Saige Grampsas then answered with a three of her own to take the lead at 5-3. Grampsas was then the next Jet to score with another three to extend the lead to 8-3. Another three by the Bulldogs cut the deficit to just two at 8-6 heading into the media timeout. After the media the Bulldogs went on a 10-0 run. This run forced the Jets to take their first timeout with the score at 16-8. Out of the timeout, Lioukina found the basket again to stop the run.
Jaeden McMillin added her first point at the free throw line with a minute left in the quarter. Truman State ended the quarter with a 4-0 run to take the lead at 20-11.
-In the second quarter, the Bulldogs continued to extend their lead with a 5-0 run. Grampsas connected with her third three of the day to stop the run. The Bulldogs hot shooting on the offensive end made it difficult for the Jets to cut into the deficit. Truman State made it a 12 point game with under seven minutes to play.
Charlize Williams hit her first bucket of the day to cut it to ten. However, the Bulldogs kept scoring, taking the game to 34-19.
Paige Craft scored her first points of the game with 2:27 left to play in the half to cut it to 36-21. Grampsas added her fourth three of the half, to put it at 40-24. Truman State was able to stretch their lead to twenty to end the half at 44-24. Grampsas led the Jets in the first half with four threes for 12 points.
-To start the third quarter, Truman went on another run to push themselves to a 51-24 game. The Jets didn't score until the 5:33 mark with a three pointer by
Layla Pierce, her first points of the game. The Bulldogs pushed their lead out to 57-26 with three minutes left in the third quarter. Lioukina then scored the next four points for the Jets to cut it to 60-31. Grampsas added her 14th point at the free throw line to end the third quarter down at 60-33.
-The Bulldogs were first to score in the final quarter, taking their lead to 64-33. Grampsas added another three pointer, her 17th point, to put it to 64-36 with eight minutes to play. The next score by either team came almost two minutes later. McMillin added a bucket with under six minutes left to play and to try to give the Jets offense one last push to finish the game. Pierce and
Brooklyn Love both connected with buckets to keep the Jets going, but ultimately it was too late for the Jets to cut the deficit. The Jets fell,

-Grampas hit five threes, going 5-12 from behind the arc for 17 points while adding five rebounds.
-Lioukina added eight points with six rebounds.
The Jets are back tomorrow at 5:30 PM to face Drury.
