Last Time Out
The Jets hosted Tabor, Kansas Christian College, Barclay, and Oklahoma Baptist to begin their 2024-25 home play. Newman comfortably won the first three games averaging over 100 points in every game, with a season high 108 against Tabor. Oklahoma Baptist took the last game the Jets competed in, 70-87. Aaron Murphy made seven baskets from the field against OBU to tie the team season-high scoring points with 18. Against Barclay, Jacob Joe set his second highest career points in a game with 18. Joe tied his career high three point makes in a game, going 6-9 from the three point line. 

Scouting the Jets
- After the first 6 games, Aaron Murphy leads the Jets offense averaging 10 points per game. He's shooting 35% from the three and 90% from the free throw line. 
- Sam Medalie has the most assists for Newman with 24. He also adds 47 points and averages .429 from the three point line.
- Isaiah Elmore leads the Jets in rebounds with 28. Elmore has also contributed with 21 points and 8 assists. 

Behind Enemy Lines
Northeastern State holds a 4-3 record, having won every home game so far. Their biggest loss deficit was 5 points in their 66-71 loss to Southern Nazarene on November 16th. Trey Phipps leads the RiverHawk offense averaging 25.7 points per game and adding 19 assists. Ethan Blackmon is the leader in rebounds with 53 and also tallies 95 points. NSU will face Arkansas Fort Smith on December 3rd before hosting the Jets on the 5th. 

Arkansas Fort Smith carries a 3-3 record before starting MIAA play. The Lions beat Quincy 78-74 on November 27th and will face Northeastern State in their first ever MIAA conference game. The Lions' biggest loss so far was on November 9th against Ouachita Baptist with a 76-81 final score. Terrell Williams Jr has the most points for the Lions with 86. He's shooting over 56% from the field and almost 40% from the three. 

The Series
- The Jets have a 4-8 record when facing the RiverHawks. Last season, NSU won both games. The last time Newman won was on February 15th 2023 with a 79-74 victory in Wichita. 
 - The Jets have beaten the Lions in the last two games they've faced each other, including a 89-83 win in their last matchup at Fort Smith. The overall series record is 2-2.
