Scouting the Jets 
Last week, the Jets traveled to Springfield, Missouri to compete in the Drury Thanksgiving Tournament. The first game in the tournament was against Truman State. Against the Bulldogs, Saige Grampsas led the offense with 17 points, going 5-12 from the three. Grampsas also added five rebounds in her 35 minutes of play. The Bulldogs hot shooting, 46% from the field and 38.5% from three, lifted them above the Jets. Newman then played the next day. Against the Panthers, the Jets were hot on the offensive end, shooting 42.2% from the field as a team with four players adding double-digit scoring. Jaeden McMillin led the Jets with 21 points with five rebounds and two assists. Paige Craft scored 16 points and tallied two steals. Valeriya Lioukina added 14 points. Layla Pierce connected with ten points and two rebounds. The Jets downed the Panthers, 79-73 to go 1-1 on the week.
 
Behind Enemy Lines
The Riverhawks are 4-3 on the year. Their losses were to Southwestern Oklahoma State, Oklahoma Baptist, and Southeastern Oklahoma. The Riverhawks found their first win over NAIA team, Haskell. They then picked up their first DII win against Henderson State at 70-61. In their win against Henderson State, Alex Hill led the Riverhawks with 19 points. Courtney Lee nearly added a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Northeastern State then faced Mary (N.D), and won 73-62. In the win over UMary, Hill added another 19 point game with six steals. The Riverhawks last game was against McPherson College (NAIA), where they dominated in their win. Northeastern State will face Arkansas-Fort Smith before matching up with the Jets. 
 
Arkansas-Fort Smith is 6-2 on the year. This is the first year for the Lions in the MIA.  The Lions have had a similar non-conference slate as the Jets, playing in the MIAA/GAC Challenge and the Drury Thanksgiving Classic with the Jets. The Lions went 1-1 in the Arkansas Tech Classic with a win over Arkansas Monticello and loss against Southern Arkansas. The Lions then had a single game against Arkansas Tech, where they took the win at 88-85. Fort Smith then hosted the Hampton Inn Classic where they faced Texas A&M International and Southwest Baptist and took both match ups. The Lions won another single non-conference match up against Southeastern Oklahoma State at 91-81. Fort Smith then played in the Drury Classic where they went 1-1, with a loss to Drury and a win against Truman State. So far through non-conference play, Anna Trusty is leading the team with 14.2 points per game, adding an average of seven rebounds a game. Morgan Browning is adding 12.8 points a game. So far, the Lions are shooting 38.2% from the field and 31% from behind the arc, while scoring 72.1 points per game. 
 
The Series
The Jets and Riverhawks have met up 11 times, with NSU leading the series with an 8-3 record.
 
The Jets and Lions have met up six times, with Fort Smith leading the series with four wins and two losses. The last match up against the Lions was in 2019 where Newman took the game at 60-54. 
 
Next Up
The Jets will return home for a single game match up against Barclay for their last home game of the 2024. After the new year, the Jets will start out on the road against Rogers State and Central Oklahoma.
