Special Assembly
The Jets host Barclay College with a special start time of 10:30 AM on Tuesday. The game was originally supposed to have been played in late November, but inclement weather forced the postponement of the contest.
 
Last Time Out
The Jets got their first sweep in the MIAA this season, defeating Nebraska Kearney in a high scoring game that tested both teams late, with both teams trading the lead in the 2nd half. 

Six of the first seven shots fell between both teams, with Newman scoring their first nine points from three. Jacob Joe and Stevie Strong started off the game on an incredible hot streak, with both making their first several shots of the game. 

With not many shots being missed by either team, the Jets took a large lead thanks to some more excellent three-point shooting. Latik Murphy had two during this run that opened the Newman lead. 

The Jets lost the lead near the end of the half, but not before Thomas Zevgaras came off the bench to score six quick points to give a momentum swing.

Newman had its highest scoring first half in the MIAA this season, incredibly scoring 51 points and taking a seven-point lead into the half. 

The fight continued to the bitter end, as the Lopers would get to within a single possession before Newman would hit a big shot to maintain a firm advantage of the lead. 

Stevie Strong led the way in scoring once again, finishing with 25 points and 7 assists. Latik Murphy also had an outstanding shooting day. getting most of his points from three, which he made four of. Thomas Zevgaras came up huge off the bench, scoring 11.

Behind Enemy Lines
The Bears of Barclay are coming off a 3-19 season. Led by first year head coach George Milsap, the Bears have never had a consistent head coach in the position, with Milsap being the team's fifth head coach in as many years.

The Bears are currently 5-8 in the MCCA of the NCCAA, losing their previous two games to Central Chrisitan College of the Bible and Kansas Christian, the latter of whom the Jets beat in the non-conference earlier this season.
 
The Series
This will be the first ever meeting between Newman and Barclay.
