BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Softball traveled to Arkansas to play a four game tournament hosted by the University of Arkansas at Monticello this past weekend.

Game 1:
The Jets couldn't find their rhythm on Friday morning. The Prairie Stars gave them no option to get in the game. They got ahead in the first inning with a solo run, and they stayed ahead for the remainder of the game.

Left fielder Malia Bender was too much for the Jets, having four RBIs, two hits and one home run.

Game 2:
Newman went back to winning ways after a strong first inning against the William Jewell Cardinals. The Jets scored three runs in the beginning of the game which would be all they needed to win the game 3-1.

Junior Madi Canez was a big part of the Jets win with a double, two RBI hit in the first inning.

Senior pitcher Jackie Gold won her second game of the season only allowing one run all game and finishing with a 1.35 ERA.

Game 3:
The first Saturday game was another offensive showcase from the Jets. They beat the Southwest Baptist Bearcats 11-3.

Hayley Bonython and Kayla Lopez put the Jets ahead in the first couple innings with two hits that resulted in three runs.

Even though the Bearcats would tie the game up in the fourth inning, the Jets took the lead again in the sixth inning with RBIs from Lauren McNaught, Gianna Navarro,  and Kayla Lopez.

Bonython got the party started in the seventh inning offensive party with a home run to center field.

Sophomore pitcher Kinyon DeCorte got her second win of the season. She stopped the Bearcats offense only allowing three runs all game.

Game 4:
Softball wrapped up the weekend playing against the host Blossoms.

The game started slow in the first couple of innings with only one run from the Blossoms.
Things started heating up in the third inning when the Jets took the lead with a Bonython walked RBI, a grounded RBI from Canez, and an error RBI from Lauren Kwak.

The Blossoms would tie up the game in the bottom of the third inning, and would then take the lead in the bottom of the fourth.

The Jets won the game with a late comeback thanks to a Lauren McNaught RBI in the sixth inning, and with two RBIs from Kwak in the top of the seventh off of an error from the Blossoms.

Jackie Gold won her third game of the season to move to a 3-1 record.

The Jets move to a 5-2 overall record.

The Jets will host Friends University in the first home series of the season this upcoming Wednesday, with the first game set to start at 2:00 PM.
