WICHITA- Newman went back to winning ways after beating the Emporia State Hornets on Saturday afternoon. The Jets competed and were able to claim the win after some very close matches and some very good performances. Men's Tennis had faced very tough competition in the last couple of matches and were looking to reverse their momentum with a win. 
The last match the Jets played was against #40 Northwest Missouri State. Newman lost 3-4 but put up a battle against one of the best teams in the country. Two second set tie breakers decided the winner of the match, showing how well the Jets can compete.
The Hornets were able to win the doubles point, but not without a fight from the Jets. Partners 
Luca Penteado and 
Andrea Bramati won their match at number three 7-5 to put the pressure on the other two courts. The Hornets won the number one court 6-3 to leave the deciding match to court two. Kurt Bruckner and 
Isfan Makhmudov battled with their opponents to a final 4-6 result. 
Ali Mounir lost a close match where the second set ended 6-7. Mounir has been great all season and had some great moments in the match.
Kurt Bruckner Suarez won an unchallenged match 6-3, 6-1 after another powerful performance from the Bolivian Senior. 
Isfan Makhmudov showcased his great form once again by beating his opponent in a tough 7-6, 6-4 match that ended up being one of the deciders for the final score. 
Luca Penteado clinched the win for the Jets winning a three set thriller. After taking set one with ease 6-1, his opponent turned up his game and forced a third set after winning the second set in a tie break. Penteado was able to stay in the game and find his form once again to claim the third set 6-3. 
Andrea Bramati played some of the best tennis he's played all season and it showed with the 6-3, 6-1 final score. 
Nicolo Lippolis wasn't able to win his match but he didn't go down easily. After losing the first set, Lippolis was able to bounce back and claim the second set to force a third set super tie breaker.
The Jets claimed their 10th win of the season and will look to add one more in their last game of the season against Harding on April 26th.
