Fourth quarter the difference in loss to Bronchos

Women’s Basketball falls to UCO, 64-44

WICHITA- The Jets hosted Central Oklahoma for a Thursday night matchup. This is the second time this season that the Jets faced the Bronchos. The Bronchos took the first match up in Edmond, 80-56. This time out, the Jets fell 64-44. 

How it Happened:
- The Jets started off on a 4-0 run with a three pointer by Saige Grampsas and a free throw by Jaeden McMillin in the first two possessions of the game. Central Oklahoma was then able to tie it at four all. Valeriya Lioukina made her first basket to retake the lead for the Jets under the seven minute mark in the first quarter. UCO took the lead with a three a minute later. The Bronchos were then able to extend their lead to 14-8 with 3:30 left in the quarter. Free throws by Lioukina and a basket by Layla Pierce cut the Bronchos lead to 16-14 with just two minutes left. McMillin was the next player to score after the Jets had held the Bronchos scoreless for the final two minutes of the quarter. The basket by McMillin put the Jets down by just two at 16-14 to end the first ten minutes of play. 
- Out of the quarter break, McMillin tied it at 16 all with a layup. The Bronchos then scored four in a row, but Pierce answered back with a three pointer to make the deficit just one point at the halfway mark. Pierce then hit another three pointer a minute later to retake the Jets lead at 22-21. The Bronchos then took it back with a basket. The Bronchos extended their lead to 25-22, but Delainey Wylie hit from behind the arc to tie it with two minutes to play in the half. Wylie then hit another three on the next possession which gave the Jets a 28-25 lead. Central Oklahoma regained the lead with seconds left in the quarter with a layup to make it 29-28. However, Paige Craft hit a half court shot to send the Jets into halftime with the lead at 31-29. 
- Out of the halftime break, Central Oklahoma retook the lead with a three pointer on their first possession. Craft was the first Jet to score in the second half with a layup to retake the lead. Central Oklahoma would tie it up at 33 all at the 6:55 mark and not give it up for the remaining minutes of the quarter. The Bronchos were able to extend the game to a six point deficit after a short third quarter run. McMillin stopped this run with a single free throw. The Bronchos then were able to take their lead to an eight point deficit. However, the Jets battled back to cut it to just a three point lead after baskets by McMillin, Grampsas and Lioukina. To end the quarter, the Bronchos hit a basket to make the score 46-41 in favor of Central Oklahoma.
- The Jets would go on to score just three points in the fourth quarter, allowing Central Oklahoma to extend their lead to double-digits. At the final buzzer, the Bronchos took the contest 64-44.
