WICHITA- The Jets hosted No. 17 ranked Rogers State. Newman would secure a 1-1 draw with the ranked Hillcats.
How it Happened:
- The Hillcats were quick to score, netting the first game of the goal in the 6th minute. Oliver Hemlin was the goal scorer for RSU to give them the 1-0 edge. Rogers State would keep the 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break. In the first half, the Hillcats outshot the Jets 6-5 both teams with four shots on goal.
Yohsuke Ono had three of the Jets four looks on goal.
- The Jets found the equalizer in the 67th minute with a goal by
Reuben Kester.
Jonathan Garcia was credited with the assist to Kester to make it a 1-1 match with 22 minutes the play. The Jets back line was able to hold off the Hillcats for the remainder of the second half, holding them to one goal. The Jets had a few looks at the goal after Kester's goal but could not connect. Newman tallied 14 total shots, to the Hillcats 14 shots. The Jets would draw the ranked Hillcats squad, 1-1.
