CLAREMORE, Okla.- The Jets crossed state lines to face the nation's No. 8-ranked team, but came up short in a 3–1 loss.
How it Happened:
Neither team managed to find the back of the net until the 28th minute, when the Hillcats broke through to take a 1-0 lead over the Jets. Rogers State doubled its advantage 12 minutes later on a penalty kick, extending the lead to 2-0. The Jets'
Gabriel Dias Juliani had a chance to cut into the deficit late in the first half, but his shot was stopped by the Hillcat goalkeeper.
The Hillcats added another goal just six minutes into the second half to go up 3-0. The Jets quickly responded as
Gregoire Henri found the net moments later, trimming the deficit to two.
Daiki Okada nearly pulled the Jets closer with a shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the Hillcat goalkeeper came up with another save. Both sides created chances in the closing minutes, but the score remained 3-1 when the final whistle sounded.
