WICHITA- Women's Basketball hosted Central Christian before the Jets head into the Thanksgiving Break. The Jets defeated the Tigers, 94-43.
How it Happened:
- The Jets opened the game with a basket from
Jaeden McMillin, followed by a three-pointer from
Jolene Ramiro to take an early 5-0 lead. Central Christian stopped the run with a free throw, but McMillin responded with her fourth point of the quarter. Moments later,
Monica Redondo knocked down a three to extend the Jets' lead to 10-1. CCCK answered with a 5-0 run to cut the margin to four with 4:30 left in the opening quarter, but Newman countered with a 7-0 run fueled by five points from
Alexis Martin to push the lead to 17-6. In the final minutes of the quarter,
Charlize Williams and
Dani Williams each added a basket, giving the Jets a 21–7 advantage at the first break.
- Carli Carlson opened the second quarter with a three-pointer, but the Tigers responded with a 5–0 run to make it 24–12. Delainey Wylie halted the surge with her second basket of the night, and Martin connected again from deep to spark the Jets' offense. Ramiro followed with her second three-pointer, stretching the lead to 32–12 midway through the quarter. A 5-0 push featuring baskets from Amaya Perez and Martin widened the gap to 37-15. In the final minute of the half, Shishawna Begay scored her first points of the night, and Carlson added her fifth to send Newman into halftime up 41-19. Martin led all Jets scorers at the break with 11 points, going a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.
- Newman came out of halftime with a 7-0 run sparked by McMillin and Ramiro. Soon after, five straight points from Valeriya Lioukina stretched the lead to 53-23 with under six minutes remaining in the third. Kyndal Underwood scored her first points at the five-minute mark during an 11-0 Jets run that pushed the margin to 64-27. Six straight points to close the quarter, highlighted by C. Williams reaching six on the night, sent the Jets into the final period leading 73-28.
- The momentum carried into the fourth. C. Williams opened the quarter with a three, and Begay followed with her seventh point of the game. Carlson reached double figures with her tenth point, extending the lead to 83-40 with 7:30 remaining. Later, C. Williams poured in six straight points to push the advantage to 91-40. Begay added the Jets final basket, her tenth point to cap a dominant 94-43 victory.

- Martin went 75% from behind the arc for 13 points.
- Redondo, Perez, and Caitlyn Clark all recorded four assists a piece.
- Carlson hit 12 points for Newman tonight, going 50% from behind the arc and 80% from the field.
- Begay and McMillin scored ten a piece. Ten points is Begay's career high.
The Jets are back in action on December 4th at 5:30 PM to open conference play against Northeastern State.
