SHAWNEE, Okla.- Men's Basketball traveled to Shawnee for a Saturday night matchup against Oklahoma Baptist. The Bison took the game, 88–75.
How it Happened:
Oklahoma Baptist opened the game with a pair of early three-pointers to take an 8–2 lead. A Jordan Glenn-Hawkins three cut the deficit to four, and the teams continued to trade baskets through the early minutes. A putback layup from Thatcher McClure brought the Jets within three, but OBU gradually pulled away behind six made threes in the first half while shooting 56% from the field. Jacob Joe knocked down a three late in the period, but the Bison carried a 54–27 advantage into halftime.
Newman came out strong to start the second half, with Deacon Courtney scoring just 15 seconds in. Courtney added a pair of buckets in the early stretch, and McClure contributed as the Jets outscored the Bison through the first ten minutes of the half. Despite Newman's push, OBU capitalized on timely scores to maintain control. Syris Williams provided a spark late, knocking down three three-pointers in the closing minutes, but the early deficit was too much to overcome as the Bison secured the 88–75 win.
