PITTSBURG, Kan.- The Jets traveled to Pittsburg to face Pitt State for the second time this season. Last time out against the Gorillas, the Jets fell just short at 86-76. This time out, the Jets fell 86-66.
How it Happened:

Sam Somerhalder scored the first bucket for the Jets to tie the game at 2-2. The Jets then took the lead at 4-2 after a bucket by
Boston Stanton III. The Gorillas were then able to retake the lead from the Jets with a run that put them up 12-6. The Jets cut that deficit to just four after another basket by Stanton III. The Gorillas were able to take their largest lead of the game with a three-pointer that took the game to 20-12.
Devin Walker answered with a three of his own to cut it to just five points. PSU was then able to take their lead to ten points after back-to-back baskets. The Jets then answered with a 4-0 run to cut it to a six point game with just under eight minutes to play. The Gorillas added on to their lead, taking it to 30-19 under the seven minute mark. With a 4-0 run by
Deadric Fikes, the Jets were within seven points. With under four minutes to play, the Jets cut the deficit to five points with a basket by
Jordan Glenn-Hawkins. This basket by Glenn-Hawkins marked his 1,000 career point. Later, a layup by Somerhalder cut the score to 34-31 with two minutes left in the half. The Gorillas answered with a bucket of their own, but the Jets ended the half with a three-pointer by Glenn-Hawkins to make the deficit two. The Gorillas had the 36-24 lead heading into the locker rooms.
- Out of the halftime break, the Jets tied the game at 36 all with a basket by Stanton III. Stanton III was fouled on the play, and completed the and one with the free throw. This allowed the Jets to take the 37-36 lead. The Gorillas answered with a 4-0 run to retake the lead at 41-37. Baskets by
Aaron Murphy and
Thatcher McClure tied the game at 41 all. The Jets then retook the lead at the 16:30 mark with a bucket by Murphy. The Gorillas went on a 7-0 run to take the lead at 48-43.
Jayden Schoen cut the run by the Gorillas with a three-pointer to make it a two point game. PSU was able to find another run to put them up 52-46. Stanton III cut the lead to six points with a jumper, but the Gorillas offense continued to roll. With under ten minutes to play, the Gorillas had built up a 12 point lead at 60-48. The Jets continued to battle, cutting the deficit to six points with a couple baskets by Fikes and a three pointer by Stanton III. With under five minutes to play, the Gorillas had taken their lead back out to double-digits, at 70-56. The Jets tried to cut the deficit, but the Gorillas had the answer. PSU was able to hold off the Jets in the closing minutes. Newman dropped the contest, 86-66.

- Stanton III scored 15 points, grabbed five boards, and dished out five assists.
- Fikes added 12 points, going 5-11 from the field.
Men's Basketball returns home next week to face Nebraska Kearney on Wednesday for homecoming and Saturday to face Fort Hays State.
