Men’s and Women’s Tennis sweep Eagles and Cardinals over the weekend

Jets go 4-0 on the weekend

WICHITA- The Jets hosted Texas A&M Texarkana on Friday and William Jewell on Saturday for non-conference match ups. On Friday, the Jets dominated the Eagles with a 4-1 win on the men's side and a 4-0 win on the women's side. On Saturday against the Cardinals, the Jets swept the Cardinals with a 5-2 win on the men's side and a 7-0 win on the women's side. 
 
Men's Tennis:
vs. TAMUT: NU 4, TAMUT 1
The Eagles were able to take the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3. This gave them the 1-0 lead heading into singles. 
In singles play, Ali Mounir pushed his match to three sets. Mounir would battle out a win, taking set one 6-3 and set three 6-4. This tied the match at 1-1. The No. 2 spot match went into three sets, with Pavlo Vysotin winning his first set 6-1 and taking set three 6-3. In No. 3 singles, Nicole Lippolis dropped his first set but was able to rally the next two sets to secure the win. This gave the Jets a 3-1 lead. Tikhon Sorokin, in the No.4 spot, forced his match to three sets where he took sets two and three to secure a win. The Jets took the victory, 4-1. 
 
vs. WJC: NU 5, WJC 2
The men started out the match with the doubles point. Ali Mounir and Pavlo Vysotin took the No. 1 doubles spot win at 6-2. Then Enrico Belardo and Andrea Torrini took the 6-2 win at the No. 3 spot to secure the doubles point. Ali Mounir took his win in three sets at the No. 1 spot to secure a 2-1 lead for the Jets. Then, in the No. 2 singles match, Pavlo Vysotin won 6-6 and 6-2 to give the Jeta  3-1 win. David Javadov won in three sets at the No. 4 spot, with a 6-2 win in the first set and a 6-3 win in the third set to help the Jets clinch at 4-1. The Jets also took the No. 6 singles spot in dominant fashion with a 6-2 win in both sets. The Jets secured their 5-2 win. 
 
Women's Tennis:
vs. TAMUT: NU 4, TAMUT 0
The Jets swept the doubles matches. In the No. 1 doubles spot, Ana Zeikidze and Nicole Bono dominated with a 6-2 win. In the second doubles spot, Luna Feillon and Dana Issabayeva continued the Jets dominance with a 6-1 win. Then in the third doubles spot, Luciana Flores Urey and Anastassiya Kim took their win 6-2. This doubles sweep gave the Jets the 1-0 lead heading into singles play. Issabayeva started off the Jets in the No. 1 singles spot with two dominant set wins. This gave the Jets a 2-0 lead. Bono secured the win in the No. 3 spot with 6-0 wins in both sets. This pushed the sheets to 3-0. Feillon was able to secure her match at the No. 4 spot at 6-0 and 6-2. The Jets would take the team match 4-0. 

vs. WJC: NU 7, WJC 0
The Jets were able to take the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 spot and No. 3 spot. Dana Issabayeva and Luna Feillon took their match 6-4 to help secure the Jets win. Nicole Bono took the next Jets win with a 6-2 and 6-0 win at the No. 3 singles spot to put the Jets ahead 2-0. Issabayeva took the No. 1 spot in singles with 6-3 and 6-4 wins. Ani Zeikidze took her No. 2 match at 6-3 and 6-0. This clinched the match for the Jets with the score at 4-0. The Jets continued their dominance throughout the match, taking every single match to sweep the Cardinals. Flores Urey dominated in her win, with 6-0 wins in both sets. Linda Nocito also earned a win at the No. 6 spot. The Jets dominated with a  7-0 win over William Jewell.
 
The Jets are back on March 25th to face Emporia State on the road.
