Women’s Tennis dominates Lions, Men’s Tennis falls short

Women's Tennis takes the 6-1 win against UAFS

FORT SMITH, Ark.- Men's and Women's Tennis traveled to Arkansas to face conference opponent, UAFS. Against the Lions, Women's Tennis dominated in their 6-1 victory. Men's Tennis fell short at 4-1. 
 
Women's Tennis:
The Jets swept the doubles matches. First taking the No.1 doubles point was Ani Zeikidze and Nicole Bono with a 6-2 win. Then, Luna Feillon and Anastassiya Kim took the No. 2 doubles match at 6-4. Dana Issabayeva and Luciana Flores Urey took the No. 3 doubles match at 6-3. This sweep of the doubles match gave the Jets the 1-0 lead heading into singles play. Issabayeva took her match at the No. 1 singles spot with dominance at a 6-2 set one win and a 6-0 set two win. Then at the No. 2 spot, Zeikidze took her match at 6-3 and 6-4. The Lions took the No. 3 match to earn their first point of the day. Feillon took her No. 4 match at 6-2 in the first set, then took her third set at 6-3. Flores Urey took her match at 6-1 and 7(7)-6(5). At the No. 6 spot, Kim closed out the Jets match with a win. The Jets took the 6-1 team match win. 
 
Men's Tennis:
The Lions took the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3. The Jets were able to take the No. 2 doubles match. Andrea Bramati and Pavel Vysotin were able to take the match, 6-4. The Lions headed into singles play with the 1-0 advantage. The Jets took their first point of the match at No. 4 singles where Bramati took his match 7-5 in set one and 6-2 in set two. This tied the match at 1-1. UAFS retook the lead with a win at the No. 5 match, making it 2-1. The Lions extended their lead to 3-1 after taking the No. 1 singles match. UAFS closed out the match with a 4-1 win. 
 
Men's Tennis heads to Searcy, Arkansas tomorrow to face Harding while Women's Tennis heads to Tahlequah, Oklahoma to face Northeastern State.
