Non-Conference Play
The Jets opened their non-conference slate at the Midwestern State Invitational, starting strong with a sweep over William Jewell. Despite dropping their next three matches, the Jets were competitive throughout the weekend, taking sets off both Midwestern State and Southeastern Oklahoma State.

The Jets continued non-conference play the following week at the Washburn Invitational, where they faced a couple opponents they will see again in conference action. After dropping the opener to Emporia State, the Jets responded in the nightcap with a 3-1 win over William Jewell, their second victory against the Cardinals. On day two, the Jets fell to nationally ranked Washburn and came up short in a competitive 3-1 battle with Truman State.

Newman wrapped up non-conference play at the MIAA/GAC Crossover. Day one saw the Jets drop matches to Southern Nazarene (3-0) and Oklahoma Baptist (3-0). On Saturday, the Jets fought to five sets against Northwestern Oklahoma State before ultimately falling in the decisive frame.
