WICHITA - Newman men's soccer hosted Oklahoma Christian on Saturday for its second non-conference match up of the season. The Jets entered the contest looking to bounce back after a narrow defeat to West Texas A&M earlier in the week.
How It Happened:
The Jets wasted no time getting on the board, as
Gabriel Dias Juliani opened the scoring in the 9th minute off an assist from
Daiki Okada. Less than a minute later, Dias Juliani struck again, this time with a high right-footed finish assisted by
Gustavo Dias Juliani, giving the Jets a 2-0 advantage at the half.Oklahoma Christian responded in the 57th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1, but Newman quickly answered. Just two minutes later, Dias Juliani completed his hat trick with a header, restoring the two-goal lead.
