Last Time Out
Last week the Jets faced No. 11 Pittsburg State and  Missouri Southern. Against the Gorillas, the Jets held the lead after the first quarter of play at 17-16 with Jaeden McMillin scoring seven of the Jets 17 points. A 12-0 run by the Gorillas pushed the ranked squad out to a 28-17 lead in the second quarter. At the half, the Gorillas led 42-29. In the second half, the Gorillas put together a 7-0 run to take a 58-35. With under two minutes to play in the third quarter, Alexis Martin hit two threes for the Jets to make it a 68-46 lead at the end of the quarter. In the fourth quarter McMillin scored her 22nd point with under four to play. Later, Martin added her 16th point of the night with three minutes remaining. The Gorillas would close out the fourth quarter with the 95-66 win. Wylie scored ten points with seven boards. 
The Jets capped off their weekend MIAA slate against Missouri Southern.  The Jets came up short, 71-63. MSSU hopped out to a 7-0 lead to start the first quarter. Five straight points from the Jets brought the deficit to 9-5. A short 4-0 run from the Lions extended their lead to eight. A three-pointer from Jaeden McMillin brought the Jets within five with under three to play in the opening quarter. The Lions responded with a three-pointer of their own to retake an eight point lead. Two free throws from McMillin closed out the first quarter. The Lions led after one, 18-12. Martin would score seven points for the Jets to kick off the third quarter, making the deficit two points at the eight minute mark. The Jets would tie the game at 29 all with 4:30 to play in the half. Later, Newman took the lead at 32-31 with just over three minutes remaining. To close out the half, MSSU retook the lead. Newman trailed 35-33 at the break. McMillin tallied 18 points in the half. A 10-0 run by MSSU would give them the 45-35 lead with 3:45 to play in the third. Martin would score four points, closing the gap to 45-39. MSSU held the 49-43 lead at the end of three.. Valeriya Lioukina scored the first basket of the final quarter. A 6-0 Lions run would push their lead to 57-46 . Five points from Paige Craft would take the game to a six point game. Later, a 4-0 run put MSSU on top 66-55 with under three to play. At the two minute mark, Delainey Wylie hit from behind the arc to make it a 66-58 contest. Though the Jets battled through the remainder of the quarter, Newman would fall short 71-63.
Scouting the Jets 

The Jets average 68.1 points per game, allowing their opponents 65..5 points per game. Newman has tallied 38.1% from the field and 28.9% from behind the arc. The Jets average 6.7 steals and 3.3 blocks per game. The Jets out rebounded their opponents 37.4-35.9. The Jets currently sit first (conference only stats), in the MIAA in three-pointers made per game, averaging 7.8 per game. Individually, McMillin leads the Jets offense with 15.5 points per game on 44.6% shooting. McMillin is currently sixth in scoring in the MIAA, eighth in field goal percentage, and first in free throw percentage.  McMillin also leads the Jets with 5.7 rebounds per game. Martin continues to lead the Jets offense with three-pointers made (29) with a total of 160 points on the year, and is the second leading scorer for the Jets. Monica Redondo leads the Jets in minutes played. Craft currently leads the team in assists 2.8 per game while averaging 9.0 points per game.  

Behind Enemy Lines
The Jennies are coming off of two wins last week, taking their win streak to five games. The Jennies faced Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western State last weekend. Against the Bearcats, UCM took the 66-61 win. In the win over NW Missouri, Reese Schaaf posted a double-double with ten boards and 25 points. Taylor Weishaar and Neely Schaaf also posted double-digit points. In the Jennies 58-55 win over MWSU, R. Schaaf posted another double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Weishaar tallied 15 points, and N. Schaaf scored 11 points. Individually, R. Schaaf leads the Jennies with 17.1 points per game, and eight boards a game. She is shooting 43.5% from three and 53.5% from the floor. R. Schaaf is second in the MIAA in scoring and third in field goal percentage. Weishaar averages 14.2 points per game, averaging 40% from the floor. 

Washburn is on a two game losing streak after dropping two closely contested match ups last weekend to Missouri Western State and Northwest Missouri. The Ichabods fell to the Griffons, 75-67. In the loss, Yiibari Nwidadah led the team with 23 points and 13 rebounds to record yet another double-double this season. The Ichabods then fell short to NW Missouri, 65-61. In this loss, Gabi Giovannetti led with 19 points and grabbed five boards. Nwidadah posted another double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. The Ichabods average 65.6 points per game. Shooting 41% from the field and 30.7% from behind the arc. Individually, Nwidadah averages 13.4 points per game with 7.8 rebounds per game. She leads the MIAA in field goal percentage, 58.7%. Giovannetti adds 12.1 points per game. Payton Sterk averages 12.2 points per game. 

The Series 
Central Missouri and the Jets have seven meetings in their playing history, with the Jennies holding a 7-0 record. 

The Jets have posted a 4-8 record against the Ichabods. The last meeting was a 77-66 loss for Newman. The last win against the Ichabods for the Jets was in February of 2023, taking the win 74-62.
