How It Happened
The Jets traded points through a 4-4 tie in the opening set, getting early kills from

Priscilla Raschen before WU scored five straight to move in front 9-4. After a Natalie Hedlund kill put the Ichabods ahead 10-5, NU answered with consecutive
Hannah Tymitz kills from
Charissa Ninan, a Tymitz block and a WU attack error to get within 10-9. The Ichabods responded with consecutive kills from Hedlund and Brooklyn Morrissey for a 12-9 lead, then kills by Brynne Topolski and Hayden Meats helped WU rebuild the margin to 16-11. A later four-point Ichabods run stretched the score from 16-12 to 20-12, and after NU fought off two set points with a WU service error and a Lamb kill, Morrissey closed the set 25-17.
The second set stayed even through a 6-6 tie, with
Sky Miller, Lamb and Tymitz putting down early kills for the Jets. WU scored six of the next seven points to move in front 12-7, then stretched the lead to 15-8 on kills by Topolski and Meats. NU cut the gap to 16-14 behind two Lamb kills, a
Natalie Martinez kill, a
Josie Weers kill, a Tymitz block and a team service ace with Ninan serving. The Ichabods answered with six straight points to reach 22-14, and after the Jets closed to 24-19 on Miller's kill, Topolski ended the set for WU, 25-19.
NU faced an early 7-0 deficit in the third set after a service error was followed by six straight Ichabods points with Autumn Gibbs serving, including kills by Morrissey and Emma Siron and a Gibbs ace. Lamb put the Jets on the board with a kill from
Madalyn Hoot, and Miller followed with an ace, but WU continued to widen the gap and reached 15-4 behind kills from Hedlund and Siron along with NU errors. The Jets later moved from 20-8 to 20-11 on a Lamb kill, a Miller ace and another Lamb kill, then cut the margin from 22-13 to 22-16 with a Weers kill, a Ninan ace and a Tymitz kill.
