Last week the Jets returned home to face Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State. The Jets fell short in both contests.
On Thursday the Jets faced Missouri Southern. Newman started strong taking an early lead in the game with baskets by
Jordan Glenn-Hawkins and
Thatcher McClure. MSSU then took the lead after a run of their own with 12 minutes to play in the first half. The Jets continued to fight, but could not stop the Missouri Southern offense in the first half. The Lions led by 24 at the half. Opening the second half, the Jets were kicked off by
Cyrus Shaw which then led to a 11-0 run by the Jets to close the gap. Glenn-Hawkins helped the Jets offense behind the arc. Despite the effort by the Jets, the Lions would take the game, 93-75
On Saturday the Jets faced Pittsburg State. The Gorillas offense started strong going on an 8-0 run to open the game. Points by
Thatcher McClure would break up the run and kick start the Jets. From there
Sam Somerhalder and
Terrell Wright would lead the Jets offense. Pittsburgh State led at half, 51-22. McClure and
Cyrus Shaw would get the action started for the Jets in the second half. The Gorillas offense continued to surge, extending their lead. The Gorillas would take the game, 95-57
