Last Time Out 
Last week the Jets returned home to face Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State. The Jets fell short in both contests. 

On Thursday the Jets faced Missouri Southern. Newman started strong taking an early lead in the game with baskets by Jordan Glenn-Hawkins and Thatcher McClure. MSSU then took the lead after a run of their own with 12 minutes to play in the first half. The Jets continued to fight, but could not stop the Missouri Southern offense in the first half. The Lions led by 24 at the half. Opening the second half, the Jets were kicked off by Cyrus Shaw which then led to a 11-0 run by the Jets to close the gap. Glenn-Hawkins helped the Jets offense behind the arc. Despite the effort by the Jets, the Lions would take the game, 93-75

On Saturday the Jets faced Pittsburg State. The Gorillas offense started strong going on an 8-0 run to open the game. Points by Thatcher McClure would break up the run and kick start the Jets. From there Sam Somerhalder and Terrell Wright would lead the Jets offense. Pittsburgh State led at half, 51-22. McClure and Cyrus Shaw would get the action started for the Jets in the second half. The Gorillas offense continued to surge, extending their lead. The Gorillas would take the game, 95-57

Scouting the Jets 
The Jets enter the week averaging 74.6 points per game while shooting 43,6% from the field. They have connected on 33.1% of their three-point attempts and average 7.8 per game. The Jets average 34.1 rebounds per game and 6.7 steals. Thatcher McClure and Cyrus Williams lead the Jets in scoring, averaging 10.7 points per game. Terrell Wright continues to lead the team with 39 blocks on the season and records 6.3 rebounds per game. Sam Somerhalder, who leads the team in minutes,  is a key piece to the Jets offense recording 3.2 assists per contest and 8.3 points per game. 

Behind Enemy Lines
Nebraska Kearny recorded their last win against Northeastern State University on February 7th. The Lopers enter the game with an overall record of 11-14 and 4-10 in conference play. The team has a scoring average of 77.7 points per game. The Lopers shoot 43.4% in field goal range and 32.9% behind the arc. The team records 37.9 rebounds per game. Individually, Ja'Bryant Hill leads the Lopers in scoring with 17.3 points per game while leading the team in minutes. Anthony Swift leads the team behind the arc with a three-point percentage of 40.7%. Clayton Moore has recorded 42 steals on the season. 

The Lions enter the week with a record of 15-8 and 7-7 in conference play. They have fallen to the last four teams played, which have been conference teams. Their last matchup was on February 7th against Arkansas-Fort Smith resulting in a loss with a score of 87-77. The team averages 70.6 points per game. The Lions shoot 47.8% from the field and 33% behind the arc. Fort Hays State averages 7.7 steals per game and 3.3 blocks. Individually, Dan Mukana leads the Lions in scoring with 17.5 points per game as well as 7.3 rebounds. Mukana has 27 blocks on the season. Jahvari Martino leads the team behind the arc with a three-point percentage of 38.1. Lucas Hammeke has recorded 46 steals on the season while playing 30.0 minutes per game.

-The Jets and the Lopers have met eleven times. The Lopers have taken six wins, while the Jets have taken five. The Jets most recent win came in February of 2024.

-The Jets are 3-20 against the Tigers. The last matchup in February of 2025 resulted in the Jets falling, 76-68.
