KEARNEY, Neb.- Women's Basketball traveled to face UNK for a Thursday night matchup, where the Lopers used a strong second half to secure a 76–42 win.
How it Happened:
- Nebraska Kearney got on the board first with a layup a minute into the game. Seconds later,
Paige Craft hit a turnaround jumper to tie it up. The Lopers added another layup, and then both teams went scoreless for two minutes before
Alexis Martin knocked down a three to end the drought.
Valeriya Lioukina answered with a layup to put the Jets back in front, but a pair of UNK free throws gave the Lopers a 9–7 lead going into the quarter break.
-The Lopers extended their lead at the start of the second quarter, going on an 8-2 run before Martin connected for another three. UNK continued to convert on the offensive side of the court, pushing the lead to 14 at one point, with a pair of Lioukina free throws bringing the Jets back within 10. Another Loper layup gave UNK a 33-21 advantage at the end of the opening half.
-UNK came out in the second half on a 17–0 run before
Charlize Williams ended the Lopers' scoring stretch with a bucket with three minutes left in the quarter. UNK stayed aggressive on the offensive end and closed out the quarter with a 57–25 lead.

Delainey Wylie opened the fourth-quarter scoring for the Jets, and Craft followed with a bucket about 30 seconds later. UNK kept its foot on the gas and continued to build the lead. Lioukina scored on a pair of layups, giving the Jets another double-digit scorer.
Carli Carlson knocked down a three late, but the Lopers closed things out strong to secure a 76–42 win.

- Lioukina led the Jets with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while adding three blocks.
- Martin connected on two threes and finished with eight points on the night.
The Jets are back in action on Saturday when they take on nationally ranked Fort Hays State.
