EMPORIA Kan.-Men's Basketball traveled to face the Hornets in a Saturday matchup. The Jets fell short, 92-63.
How it Happened:

Jordan Glenn-Hawkins would get things started for the Jets behind the arc. The Hornets would then answer and take the lead. Points would then go back and forth between the teams. Points by
Terrell Wright and
Sam Somerhalder would help the Jets cut the lead to two with 14:19 remaining in the first half. The Hornets would then go on a 10-0 run to make the score 24-10
Syris Williams hit back-to-back shots behind the arc making the score 30-22 with 7:53 remaining in the half. The Hornets would answer with a 9-0 run of their own. Williams would cut the Emporia State run short with a three-pointer making the score 39-25. Emporia state would go on another run to close out the first half. The Hornets would lead at the half, 47-25.

Syris Williams scoring for Newman. The Hornets would continue their offensive surge expanding their lead to 25 with 17:00 minutes remaining in the game. Points would then go back and forth between the teams. A dunk by Terell Wright would help the Jets continue to battle offensively with 11:45 left in the game.
Cyrus Shaw would score his seventh point of the game to make the score 77-46 with 7:30 remaining in the game. Emporia State would continue to dominate offensively with multiple scoring runs. Williams would break up a run and knock down a three-pointer. Following a media timeout,
