Last Time Out 

- Newman is coming off a tough 91-83 overtime loss to Fort Hays State, which featured multiple lead changes. The Jets started strong and held a narrow lead at halftime before the teams battled back and forth in the second half. Back-to-back threes from Cyrus Shaw late helped force overtime, but a late run by the Tigers in the extra period proved to be the difference. Shaw led the Jets with a team-high of 30 points. Sam Somerhalder recorded a double-double, and Thatcher McClure added 12 points. 

- Following that match-up, the Jets fell to Emporia State, 92-63. Newman kept things close early, but the Hornets used multiple scoring runs to build a large lead and took a 47-25 advantage into halftime. The Jets continued to compete in the second half with contributions from Syris Williams, Terrell Wright, and Sam Somerhalder, but Emporia State maintained control and pulled away for the win. 

 
 
Scouting the Jets 
As a team, the Jets are averaging 74.2 points per game while shooting 43.3% from the field. They are connecting on 33.4% from three-point range and averaging 8.0 made threes per contest. Newman also averages 34.4 rebounds and 6.6 steals per game. Cyrus Shaw leads the Jets in scoring at 11.6 points per game, while Thatcher McClure adds 10.5 points per contest. Terrell Wright anchors the defense with 42 blocks on the season and averages 5.8 rebounds per game. Sam Somerhalder, who leads the team in minutes played, contributes 8.5 points and 3.15 assists per game as a key part of the offense.

The Bearcats are coming off a win over Northeastern State and a loss to Arkansas-Fort Smith. The team averages 71.3 points per game and records a field goal percentage of 43.6%. The Bearcats collect 33.4 rebounds per game and 6.5 steals. Individually, Royce Williams leads the team in scoring with 14.2 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per contest, as well as minutes played. Jack Rattigan has 34 blocks on the season.  
 

 
The Griffons are coming off a loss to Arkansas-Fort Smith and a win over Northeastern State. The team averages 81.9 points per game and records a field goal percentage of 46.4%. The Griffons collect 34.4 rebounds per game and 7.4 steals. Individually, Noah King leads the team in scoring with 16.5 points per game. Marko Pavlovic leads the team with 7.5 rebounds per contest and 34 blocks on the season. Gavin Hershberger has recorded 35 blocks on the season.
