WICHITA- Newman Men's Basketball hosted Missouri Western State University at home for senior day. The Griffons would take the game 97-82.

How it Happened: 
-Newman quickly answered the opening jumper from Missouri Western with a three-pointer from Jacob Joe to take an early lead. The Jets built momentum midway through the half behind Jordan Glenn-Hawkins, who knocked down a three and added a pair of layups, and Sam Somerhalder, who scored inside and hit a jumper to keep the offense flowing. The Griffons tied the game at 12 with 13:58 remaining in the first half. The Jets would then go on an 11-0 scoring run to regain the lead. The teams would then keep trading baskets with Missouri Western battling to trim the deficit to six at the half. Newman would lead after the first half, 42-36.
-Newman opened the second half with three-pointers from Jacob Joe and Jordan Glenn-Hawkins to make the score 48-41. The Griffons would go on a 9-0 run to gain the lead making the score 50-48 with 16:15 left in the game. Sam Somerhalder continued to lead the offense at the rim and free-throw line. The teams would continue to exchange points to tie the game up at 60. Somerhalder would make a layup for the Jets to regain the lead. Missouri Western would go on another scoring run to take the lead with 9:22 remaining in the game. Terrell Wright gave the Jets some energy with back-to-back dunks making the score 79-72 with Missouri Western still in front. The Griffons would go on multiple scoring runs to extend their lead and take the game, 97-82.
