GLVC Announces Bracket for 2026 Women’s Bowling Championship

INDIANAPOLIS., Ind. – The 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women's Bowling Championship Tournament seeds have been set for the fifth annual event. The Championship will take place March 20-22, at Bel-Air Bowl in Belleville, Illinois, hosted by Maryville and McKendree Universities.
 
Based on the latest NCAA RPI rankings released Monday, March 16, defending champions Maryville was seeded as the No. 1 team in the tournament with a No. 8 RPI. Newman earned the No. 2 seed due to its ranking at No. 12, while McKendree is ranked 16th in the RPI and seeded third in the league event. The fourth and fifth seeds went to No. 27 Central Missouri and No. 32 Oklahoma Christian, respectively, while sixth-seeded Lewis is ranked at No. 45. Quincy and Indianapolis round out the tournament field at 46 and 62 in the RPI.

The three-day affair will feature a double-elimination, best-of-three format, including a five-person Traditional team match, followed by a Baker Total Pinfall and Baker Best-of-Seven Match play, if necessary, per contest. Four matches will be contested at 8:30 AM Central Time (CT) on Friday, followed by four more at 1:30 PM CT. Saturday features two matches in the morning before two matches that afternoon. There will be one match on Sunday morning before the title tilt takes place in the afternoon. Due to the double-elimination nature of the bracket, there may be an 15th match late Sunday afternoon, if necessary.
 
For spectators traveling to Belleville, attendance will be $15 for adults, $5 for students with ID and $5 youth aged 6-12th grade, while children 5 and under will be admitted for free. Tickets must be purchased in advance at GLVCsports.com/tickets, and no cash will be accepted on site.
 
Fans who cannot attend in person will be treated to over 20 hours of live coverage on GLVCSN, including video with audio commentary of lanes 13-14, along with video-only coverage of the secondary lanes on 5-6, 9-10, and 17-18. As tournament host, the  GLVC, Maryville and McKendree will handle streaming efforts, including a combination of Evan Holmes and Mike Fleischman.

At 8:30am on Friday morning, Match No. 2 between 4-seed Central Missouri and 5-seed Oklahoma Christian on lanes 13-14 will be the main coverage on GLVCSN, while a video-only broadcast will be offered for Match No. 1 between 1-seed Maryville and 8-seed Indianapolis from lanes 17-18, Match No. 3 between three-seed McKendree and six-seed Lewis, and Match No. 4 between 2-seed Newman and 7-seed Quincy. At 1:30, The winners of Match 3 and Match 4 will face off in Match 6, with that contest receiving full streaming coverage on lanes 13-14. Also with video-only treatment will be the winners of Match 1 and Match 2 on lanes 9-10 in  Match 5, while the losers of Match 1 and Match 2 will compete on lanes 17-18 with a video-only broadcast for Match 7 and the losers of Match 3 and Match 4 will compete on lanes 5-6 with a video-only broadcast for Match 8.
 
Saturday features video-only coverage of Match 9 at 8:30 AM on lanes 9-10 between the Match 6 loser and Match 7 winner, while complete coverage at the same time will highlight the loser of Match 5 and winner of Match 8 in Match 10. At 1:30 in the afternoon, full coverage resumes for Match 11 between the winners of Match 5 and 6 on lanes 13-14 while the winners of Match 9 and Match 10 will be on lanes 9-10 with a video-only broadcast for Match 12.
 
Sunday concludes the weekend's action with complete coverage of both the 8:30 Match 13 between the winner of Match 12 and loser of Match 11, as well as the title match between the winner of Match 11 and 13, which will tentatively start at 12:30, pending the conclusion of the morning match. If necessary, Match 15 will also be streamed with full coverage, beginning approximately 15 minutes after the last ball is rolled in the afternoon match.
