WICHITA- The Jets hosted No. 21 Rogers State University on Sunday, March 22nd for game three of the series. The Hillcats took game three through seven innings, 16-0.
How it Happened:
-After a scoreless first inning, Rogers State would score six runs in the top of the second. Newman would record four errors, allowing RSU to capitalize and create a 6-0 lead.
Riley Kujawa would give the Jets some energy with a double to left field, but the Hillcats would continue to hold the Jets.
-Rogers State added to its lead in the fourth inning. With two outs, the Hillcats delivered an RBI single to center field, bringing home a run and pushing the lead. Rogers State would stretch the lead to 8-0 in the fourth inning. RSU continued to control the game in the fifth inning, adding another run. The Jets would record a single to left field from
Colton Holland followed by a walk from
Jackson Witt to give the Jets two baserunners, but the Hillcats continued to hold the Jets.
-In the top half of the sixth inning, the Hillcats would add four more runs to their lead making it 13-0. Newman would record a couple of hits in the bottom of the inning, as
Kaynan Kaku and
Anthony Cannavino both singled. Rogers State added three more runs in the seventh inning. This would push their lead to 16-0. The Hillcats would secure game three through seven innings.
