Jet Softball drops non-conference double header against SNU

BETHANY, Okla. - The Jets faced Southern Nazarene for a mid-week non-conference match-up. In a Tuesday doubleheader, the Jets fell to SNU, 0-8, in game one and 4-12 in game two. 
 
Game one vs Southern Nazarene: NU 0, SNU 8 

Lani Dryden would lead the game off with a walk in the first, and Kaila Kaahu would earn a walk in the second, but neither was able to advance and score. Neither team would score through the first three innings. Southern Nazarene would score four runs off four hits in the bottom of the third inning. In the top of the fourth, the Crimson Storm would go on a scoring run, scoring four more runs off four more hits. In the top of the fifth, Aspen Peterson led off the inning with a walk, but the Jets were unable to reply. The game would end in five innings, the score ending 0-8. 

 
Game two vs Southern Nazarene: NU 4, SNU 12 
- In the top of the first, hits to Malie Noda, Kaahu, and Peterson were unable to score a run. Southern Nazarene would score first, plating a run in the bottom of the first, through two singles and a stolen base. In the second inning, SNU would score a second run off two more singles and a sacrifice bunt.  
- Newman would reply in the top of the third, plating four runs. Noda would single, followed by Kaahu earning a walk, and Lan. Dryden would single to load the bases. Travia Smith singled, scoring Noda and Kaahu. Laci Dryden walked, and a Crimson Storm error would score Lan. Dryden and Smith. SNU would reply in the bottom of the third, scoring 10 runs off seven hits, taking the score to 4-12. The Jets would make a push for runs in the fourth and fifth, but were unable to convert base runners to runs. 

 
Player Notes (on the day): 
- Noda had two hits, a run, and a walk. 
- Kaahu had two hits, a run, and two walks. 
- Lac. Dryden had two hits and a walk. 
- Smith had a hit, a run, and two RBI's. 

 
Newman will head on the road to continue conference play, facing Northeastern State on Friday, March 27th, and Rogers State on Saturday, March 28th.
