TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - The Jets faced Northeastern State for their first away conference match-up of the season. In a Friday afternoon doubleheader, the Jets fell to NSU, 2-7, in game one and 1-7 in game two.
Game one vs Northeastern State: NU 2, NSU 7
Malie Noda would lead off the game with a walk, later scoring on an AJ Borja double. Borja would then score the Jets' second run, via a Hannah Nordby double. Northeastern would reply in the bottom of the second, scoring a run off a solo home run. In the bottom of the fourth, NSU would take the lead after hitting a two-run home run. The RiverHawks would strike again in the bottom of the fifth, scoring three runs off three hits, taking the score to 2-6. Northeastern would add a run in the sixth to cement their win 2-7.
Game two vs Northeastern State: NU 1, NSU 7
To lead off the top of the first, Noda homered on the first pitch of the game. NSU replied in the bottom half of the inning with a run of their own. The RiverHawks went on a scoring run in the bottom of the third, taking their lead to 1-4. In the top of the third, Noda would get her second hit of the game, advancing to second on a wild pitch. Borja would walk to put runners on first and second, but the Jets were unable to be brought in. In the bottom of the fifth, Northeastern would hit a solo home run and bring another run on a passed ball, in the fifth, and added another in the sixth, taking the score to 1-7.
