Before Newman:
Played one season of junior college baseball at Cowley County Community College earining All-Jayhawk Conference honors...Played high school baseball at Hayden High School in Topeka, Kansas for coach Aaron Beaker...Led the team in batting average and RBI's earning him All-League and All-State honors, and leading Hayden to a Regional and State championship.
