Before Newman:
Played volleyball at Drury University in Springfield, Mo....Played in 115 sets as a junior, led the Panthers with 429 digs and was ninth in the GLVC in digs per game at 3.70...Had a season high 29 digs vs. Rockhurst on September 11 and had 28 digs vs. Southeastern Oklahoma State on September 11 at the Missouri S&T Classic...Had 21 digs twice on the season with those coming in matches vs. Northwest Nazarene on September 3 at the Texas Woman's Classic and on August 28 at Alaska Anchorage on August 28...Had 20 or more digs in a match four times and double digit digs in a match 19 times...Had 22 serving aces with a season high four vs. East Stroudsburg on September 3 at the Texas Woman's Classic...Had three serving aces at Bellarmine on October 2...Recorded 33 assists with a season high six vs. Upper Iowa at the Missouri S&T Classic on September 10...Had three assists in a match three times...Had two kills for the season those coming in matches vs. Missouri S&T on October 8 and vs. Alaska Fairbanks on August 28...Played junior college volleyball at Cowley College in Arkansas City, Kan. ...Earned First Team NJCAA All-American and had a dig average of 5.97 balls per game...Was a member of the Dean's List all four semesters and and earned December Student Athlete of the Month honors...Was a First Team All-American, First Team All-Jayhawk Conference and First Team All-Region selection at Cowley...Led the Jayhawk East Conference in digs (783) good for 10th in the nation...Helped Cowley County win back-to-back conference titles and finish second in the nation in 2010 and fifth in 2009...The 2010 team compiled a 32-5 record.
