GETTING TO KNOW COREY...

As a junior:
Played in 50 games with 196 at bats...had 35 RBI with a .281 batting average and a .413 slugging percentage.

Before Newman:
Played college baseball at Highland CC. Graduated from Seaman High School in Topeka, Kan., where he played for Coach Steve Bushnell. Earned honorable mention honors as a senior. Helped his team win the state title in 2006 and 2008.
