GETTING TO KNOW GAGE...

As a junior:
Played in 17 games with 3 saves and an 8.87 ERA in 45.2 innings pitched

Before Newman:
Played his sophomore year at Creighton where he appeared in nine games with 8.1 innings pitched. His freshman year played baseball at Johnson County CC where he went 10-3 with a team best 1.09 ERA  in 15 games with 83.33 innings pitched. Graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in Roeland Park, Kan., where he played for Coach Joe Gunderson…Earned First Team All-Sunflower honors, along with First Team All-Sunflower County.
