Jalen Love is entering his first year as a graduate assistant coach with the Newman men’s basketball program in 2017-18.

Love assists with all facets of the Jets program, including team and individual training and game preparation.

Love spent the past year as a graduate assistant and head JV coach at Division II Adams State in Alamosa, Colorado, helping the Grizzlies to the RMAC postseason.

A 2016 graduate of Newman with his bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies, Love played one season for the Jets, starting all 29 games and averaging 11.0 points, 3.1 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game. He played his first three seasons at Division I University of Denver, starting all three years.

Love is a native of Wichita, Kansas, and a graduate of East High School, where he was named to the Kansas 6A all-state team as a senior.
