Newman University Athletics

Matias is in his second year as Newman's Assistant Golf Coach in 2022-23 after joining the Jets in August of 2021.

The Mustang,Oklahoma native moved to South Carolina his junior year of high school to attend an international golf academy.  Nelson then went on to play golf at St. Gregory's University for two years and later transferred to University of Arkansas Fort Smith where he earned his Bachelor's degree.

Nelson resides in Wichita.
