As a Junior (2010):
Played in 15 games in his innaugural season with the Jets, including 14 starts...Took just one shot playing primarily as a defender.

Before Newman:
Played soccer at Johnson County Community College in Olathe, Kan., where he played 20 games as a defender for the Cavaliers in the 2008 season...Was placed on the All Jayhawk Conference Second Defensive Team for each of the two years he served at JCCC...Earned the JCCC Scholar-Athlete Award as a sophomore...Played his high school soccer at Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kan, where he was a four year varsity player, earning All-Sunflower League Second Team defensive honors his final two seasons...Was named LHS team captain prior to his senior season...Earned the LHS scholastic achievement award with a GPA of 3.25...Also wrestled for LHS, claiming fourth place at the 2005 Kansas 6A State Championship at 130 lbs.
