GETTING TO KNOW STEVEN...
As a Freshman (2011):
Played and started in six games...Finished the season with 16 saves.

Before Newman:
Played high school soccer for coach Mike Skaggs at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School in Wichita, Kan. ...Was the team captain in his final year at Bishop Carroll where he was a three-year letter winner...Led Bishop Carroll to the 2010 Kansas 5A Regional Championship giving up only one goal in two games, and stopped the tying penalty kick against the No. 2 seed....2010 Honorable Mention All-City Goalkeeper accolades...As a junior, played the first 10 games as forward/midfield scoring one goal and two assists, earning 2009 All-City Honorable Mention Forward honors...Finished the season playing goalkeeper, allowing a 1.27 goal-against average.
