The 2015 season marks Victor Garcia-Bebek's fourth season as head coach of the Newman women's soccer team.
In the 2013 season, Garcia-Bebek guided NU to its first-ever Heartland Conference postseason tournament appearance. Three Lady Jets earned All-Heartland Conference honors, and Mei-Mei Senthavy was selected to the Daktronics All-South Central Region Second Team after her record-breaking season with 11 goals and six assists.Â
Garcia-Bebek joined the Jets after spending three seasons as the head coach of the Friends University women's soccer program. Under Garcia-Bebek, the Falcons posted a 22-27 overall record, and reached the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference semi-finals in each of his first two seasons. His 2010 squad finished third in the KCAC. In his three seasons at Friends, Garcia-Bebek produced 17 All-KCAC selections and 14 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes. In addition, more than 80 percent of his student-athletes were members of the Athletic Director's honor roll for three-consecutive years.
Garcia-Bebek is no stranger to the Newman University soccer programs. He was an assistant coach for the Newman men's soccer program from 2002-09. In that role, he assisted in scouting, recruiting, day-to-day operations, and oversaw the training of field players. He received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Newman in 2003, then completed his Masters's degreen in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership in 2007, also from Newman.
Garcia-Bebek was born and raised in Lima, Peru. He played lower, middle and high school soccer, as well as club soccer and semi-professional soccer in Peru, and represented his high school internationally while playing in Brittain. In 2001, he moved to the United States to play soccer at Newman University, and helped the team to a Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference champio0nship, and an NAIA Region IV Runner-up Finish.
Garcia-Bebek has two daughters, Navia and Emma.
