Beau Barnthson is entering his third year as an assistant coach with the Newman women’s volleyball program in 2018-19.

Barnthson assists with all aspects of the Jets program, with a focus on outside hitters.

In his first season with the Jets, the team collected 20 wins and moved on to the Heartland Conference tournament for the second straight season. Barnthson helped as three players earned all-conference honors. In 2018, Newman posted three more players to all-conference squads, including Offensive Player of the Year Emily Harvey.

Barnthson came to Newman after coaching club volleyball for over a decade. He was club director for ICT MAVS for three years, and coached high school volleyball for two seasons.

Barnthson played college volleyball for Park University in Parkville, Missouri, where he received his bachelor’s degree.
