Newman University Athletics

Terra Macklin is entering her 11th year as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Newman University in 2019-20.

Macklin helps run the sports medicine department at Newman, which provides prevention, treatment and care for student-athletes on all 18 Jet athletic teams.

Prior to Newman, Macklin spent seven years as an athletic trainer at other colleges. She spent three years at Wichita State, where she was the athletic trainer for the women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s golf teams, as well as the WSU cheer squad. Prior to WSU, she was the head athletic trainer at Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kansas.

Macklin received her bachelor’s degree from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas, and a master of science from Tennessee-Chattanooga.
