SCOUTING THE FIELD...
#1 - St. Edward's
The Hilltoppers concluded their Heartland Conference schedule as the winners of nine of their last 10 contests. Their only conference loss came in a five-set decision at Dallas Baptist on Sept. 28. Five Hilltoppers have 220-or-more kills this season, led by Lindy Luleff's 281 kills, while six-time Heartland Confrence Libero of the Week Michelle Hundt owns an even 600 digs.
#2 - Newman
Newman will compete in its first-ever Heartland Conference Championship tournament as the No. 2 seed after winning four of its last five games, and ending the season on a three-match win streak. The Jets are led by senior
Chelsey Potter, who is responsible for 300 kills this season, while senior
Victoria Green leads the Heartland Conference with a .321 attack percentage.
#3 - St. Mary's
A road win at Dallas Baptist earned rights to the No. 3 seed for the Rattlers, who ended the season as losers of three of their last four games, including a 3-1 loss to St. Edward's in the final match of the season. St. Mary's is led offensively by Kirsten Chapman's 251 kills, while Stephanie Flores has a team-high 608 digs defensively.
#4 - Dallas Baptist
Consistency plagued the Patriots all season, as DBU was unable to put together a winning streak of more than three games the entire season. DBU ended its season with a sweep over Texas A&M International. The Patriots are led by Kaylyn Frink, whose 313 kills and 374 digs are both team highs.
