WICHITA - The Newman volleyball team will hit the road once again Tuesday, traveling to Kansas City, Mo., for a 7 p.m. contest with arch-rival Rockhurst. After winning three of their last four matches, the Jets will meet a Rockhurst squad that is 12-2 this season, and is receiving votes in this week's Bison/AVCA National poll. .

Newman brings a 6-7 record into Tuesday's match after knocking off NCAA Tournament participant Dallas Baptist in a 3-1 contest Saturday afternoon in Wichita. The win pushed Newman's Heartland Conference record to 3-1, and moved the Jets into second place in the conference.
The Jets are led offensively by Chelsey Potter, a 5-7 senior from Cheney, Kan., who has 118 kills this season, and is one of three Jets with more than 90 kills. Freshman Lyndsey Martini has been the one responsible for getting the ball to Potter, posting 309 set assists through 13 games in 2010. Defensively, the Jets use a team approach. Three Jets have 90 or more digs this season, led by Potter and Kristen White , who have 114 digs each, while Amanda Savage is close behind with 92 digs.
Rockhurst, meanwhile, brings a 12-2 record into tonight's match. The Hawks have won two-straight after a 3-0 win over Kentucky Wesleyan Saturday in Kansas City. Rockhurst's last loss came in a 3-2 decision at Drury exactly a week ago (Sept. 21). Mason-Halpin Fieldhouse has been kind to Rockhurst this season, where the Hawks have posted a 7-1 record on their home floor.
