The Match-Up
About the Jets...
Coach Green looks to lead the Jets to their 10th-straight victory Saturday, when the team travels to Austin, Texas for a match-up against St. Edward's. Newman hasn't suffered a defeat since falling 71-65 at Southwestern Oklahoma State on Dec. 1. The Jets have been led by seniors Satoria Bell and Tasha Cannon who have emerged as one of the top duos in Division II women's basketball. Bell, a senior transfer from Temple University, has scored in double digits in every game this season and has scored 20+ points in 14 of those games, including three games with over 30 points. Cannon has taken the season by storm, averaging 14.8 points and 10.4 rebounds per game and has gone for nine double-doubles so far this year. Newman has a 3-2 record away from Fugate Gymnasium and has not lost a conference game this season.

Scouting SEU...
The Hilltoppers will enter Saturday's contest with a 4-14 overall mark and a 1-3 conference record. SEU is coming in off a 113-111 overtime victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State inside the Recreation and Convocation Center in Austin on Thursday. In that contest, freshman guard Maddie Wheeler scored a career high 32 points, going 14-of-23 shooting while grabbing a game high nine boards for the Hilltoppers. SEU holds a 4-9 record on their home floor and have yet to win a game on the road.

Last Time Out...
Newman won its ninth-straight game Wednesday, defeating Texas-Permian Basin 78-62 on the Falcons' home floor. The Jets jumped out to a 6-0 lead to start the game and never let the Falcons back into it. Satoria Bell hit a jumper with 4:55 left to play in the first half giving the Jets a 37-17 lead. By halftime UTPB had managed to score just 25 points and went into their locker room down 42-25. Newman opened the second half with a Sam Soyez layup and by the 9:26 mark the Jets had reached their largest lead of the match, 60-37. The Falcons tried to rally, using a Lauren Unger three pointer to cut the lead down to nine, 71-62 with 3:34 to play but this would be the closest they would get. Newman closed out the game with a Sam Soyez free thrown, 78-62.

Satoria Bell led the Jets with 26 points on 11-for-16 shooting and grabbed five rebounds while Tasha Cannon added 14 points and nine boards. Celeste Key and Kianna Flannagan rounded out the Newman double figure scorers, going for 11 and 12 points respectively. As a team, the Jets shot 55.6 percent (30-54), and converted 65.2 percent (15-23) of their free-throws.

Player to Watch...
Kianna Flannagan- The junior from Hawthorne, Calif. has been a key part of the Jets' overall success. She came off the bench for 12 points, three boards and three assists in Wednesdays action and leads the team with 49 assists. Flannagan is averaging 7.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game and leads all bench players in scoring.

The Series...
