Last Time Out...
The Jets dropped their second-straight game, 93-86, to a hot Central Oklahoma team that had just defeated No. 10 Northeastern State 77-71 on Jan. 28 in Edmond, Okla. The loss was the fourth road loss for the Jets this season.

Newman grabbed a quick 4-3 lead off a Tasha Cannon layup to start the game but the Broncho's offense took over and had opened up a 20-12 lead midway through the first half. The Jets rallied and, after a Cannon layup at the 3:22 mark, tied the game at 26-26. Central Oklahoma responded with a 10-2 run in the last three minutes and entered halftime leading, 36-28.

Both teams traded baskets to start the second half until Central Oklahoma used a Autum Huffman layup to pull out to a 54-37 lead with 13:50 remaining. The Jets fought back though and forced a 70-70 tie after a Kinana Flannagan layup with 5:50 to play. Newman took the lead, and led by as many as 74-70 before the Bronchos took over and never looked back on their way to the 93-86 win.

Four Newman players scored in double digits against Central Oklahoma. Satoria Bell had a game-high 35 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Tasha Cannon booked her 11th double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 boards. Celeste Key and Kianna Flannagan went for 14 and 11 points, respectively, and combined for nine rebounds. As a team the Jets shot 36.8 percent (25-68) from the field and sunk 77.3 percent (34-44) of their free throws while out-rebounding the Bronchos, 44-35 in the loss.

Player to Watch...
Alina Voronenko- The 6-2 senior-transfer from Kansas State gives the Jets an inside presence against a rebound-hungry St. Mary's squad. In their last meeting Voronenko grabbed five boards and dumped in six points in the Jets' 66-59 victory over the Rattlers Jan. 14 inside Fugate Gymnsium. Voronenko is shooting 44.2 percent from the field this season and has made 68 percent of her free throws attempts.
