Men’s Golf Places 16th at WNMU Fall Intercollegiate

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Newman men's golf team placed 16th out of 20 teams at the WNMU Fall Intercollegiate that took place on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 1-2), hosted by Western New Mexico. The Jets shot a three-round total of 900.
 
James Bolton continued his strong season with a 14th place finish. He shot back-to-back rounds of 1-under-par 71s and then carded a 2-over-par 74 in his third round for an even par total of 216.
 
Ben Cotton and Logan Woodbridge finished with identical scores of 13-over-par 229. Cotton fired rounds of 74, 77 and 78. Woodbridge carded rounds of 78, 74 and 77.
 
James Hornsby and Charles Mommaerts were right behind Cotton and Woodbridge with rounds of 230 and 231, respectively. Hornsby went 77, 79 and 74 in his three rounds, and Mommaerts shot rounds of 76, 77 and 78.
 
Oklahoma Christian won the event with a three-round team score of 851. Sam Johnston of OC won in a playoff to earn medalist honors.
 
The Jets are back on the course on Oct. 14 at the 2013 Territory Classic in Duncan, Okla.
