Bolton Finishes Second; Men’s Golf Places Fifth at Newman Invite

WICHITA – Sophomore James Bolton finished in a tie for second at the Newman Fall Invitational. The two-day tournament concluded today (Sept. 10) with the men's golf team finishing in fifth after the two rounds at Reflection Ridge.
 
After shooting a 2-under-par 70 in the first round, Bolton followed it up with a 3-under-par 69 today for a two day total of 5-under-par 139. He was one shot behind Colin Pearson of Indian Hills CC, who finished with rounds of 68 and 70 for a score of 138.
 
The Jets as a team totaled a two-day score of 603 after shooting a 304 today. Charles Mommaerts shot a 73 today for a two-day score of 149, which tied him for 11th place. Thomas Allen shot a 82 for a 156, Logan Woodbridge carded an 81 for a 160 and Ben Cotton finished with a 163 after shooting an 81 today.
 
Oklahoma Christian won the event with a score of 582 to beat Indian Hills CC by two shots. Cameron was third with a 589 and Texas A&M-Commerce totaled a 602 for fourth place.
 
NU returns to the course on Monday, Sept. 16 in the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational in Canyon, Texas.
