FORT SMITH, Ark. – The Newman men's golf team placed sixth at the Lions Classic on March 24-25. The Jets totaled a team score of 618 at the event.
Charles Mommaerts finished 6-over-par and placed in a tie for first.
Mommaerts totaled rounds of 4-over-par 74 in his first round and then shot a 2-over-par 72 for a total score of 146.
Ben Cotton carded rounds of 75 and 79 for a 154 score. He tied for 18th place. With a score of 156,
James Bolton placed 25th. He shot rounds of 79 and 77.
Logan Woodbridge carded rounds of 78 and 85 for a score of 163.
Joe Molina shot a 78 and 86 for a score of 164. He placed 51st.
Cameron won the event with a team score of 596. Southeastern Oklahoma State was second with Arkansas-Monticello third.
The Jets are back on the course at the Dallas Baptist Invitational on April 7-8 at Hackberry Creek in Dallas, Texas.
