BOLIVAR, Mo. – The Newman women's soccer team ended its non-conference season with a 4-0 loss at Southwest Baptist on Monday (Sept. 29) at Pasters Field. The Lady Jets dropped to 4-3-1 on the season and start conference play on Saturday.
 
The Bearcats scored three of their goals in the first stanza, including their first goal in the third minute. The second SBU tally came in the 23rd minute, and the margin increased to 3-0 in the 28th minute. Karla Jamison, Taylor Schmidt and Amy Bolton scored the first half SBU goals.
 
In the second 45 minutes, the Bearcats added one more goal. Jamison scored her second goal of the match in the 63rd minute.
 
SBU totaled 24 shots to two from NU. Nine of the Bearcat shots were on goal to one shot on goal for the Lady Jets. Daniela Nieto had the one shot on goal, and Jeehye Yi had the other NU shot.
 
Kayleigh Renfro started in goal, making five saves and allowing the four goals. She is 4-3-1 on the season. 

The Lady Jets start Heartland Conference play on Saturday (Oct. 4), hosting Texas A&M International at 5 p.m. at Wilkins Field.
