CLAREMORE, Okla. – Junior
Morgan Foster scored two goals, including the game-winning tally, in a 3-1 win over Rogers State on Thursday (Oct. 29). With the win, NU moved to 5-8-2 on the season and 2-4-1 in the Heartland Conference.
Foster put the Jets up 1-0 late in the first half. She scored in the 44
th minute with the assist to
Paige Thompson.
Facing a penalty kick in the final minute before the half,
Kelsi Langley kept the Hillcats off the board with a save for a 1-0 advantage after the first 45 minutes.
The Hillcats tied the score at 1-1 in the 58th minute on a header off a corner kick.
Foster scored the game-winning goal in the 68th minute. She hit from 15 yards out with the assist to
Quincy Plank. The two goals tonight give her eight scores on the season, a team high.
Senior
Harriet Jakeman gave the Jets some insurance with a goal in the 78th minute for a 3-1 advantage. She fired a shot near post after a pass through the defense by
Korrie Raney.
The Jets hung on for the 3-1 win.
For the game, NU totaled 13 shots with eight on goal. RSU outshot the Jets with 16 shots with seven on goal.
Langley went the full 90 minutes in goal. She made five saves and allowed the one RSU tally.
The Jets go to Oklahoma Christian on Saturday (Oct. 31) for the season finale. Start time is set for 2:30 p.m. in Oklahoma City.
