COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Newman men's soccer team allowed a late goal to fall, 2-1, to Colorado-Colorado Springs on Sunday (Sept. 13) at Mountain Lion Stadium. With the loss, the Jets dropped to 1-2-1 on the season. 
The Mountain Lions took an early 1-0 lead less than 3 minutes into the contest. UCCS's J.R. Calhoun scored on off a corner kick with the assist from Sebastian Hertzberg in the third minute. 
NU didn't take long to knot the score up at 1-1. 
Tomaz Rossi scored in the 16th minute with the assist to 
Taylor Henry. 
After the first 45 minutes, the score remained tied at 1-1. The Jets played the final 5 minutes of the half and the whole second half down one man due to a red card in the 40th minute. 
The game-winning came in the 82nd minute. Conor Langenbahn of UCCS scored to put the Mountain Lions up 2-1 with the assists to both Josh Bernstsson and Hertzberg. 
In the first half, the host team held a strong 10-4 edge in shots. The second half was much more even with UCCA up 11-8 on the shots. The Mountain Lions totaled 12 shots on goal to five from the Jets. 
Rossi totaled a team-high three shots, including the goal. Henry and 
Luca Anelli added two shots. 
Goalkeeper 
Calum Dillon went the full 90 minutes in goal, making 10 saves and allowing the two goals. 
The Jets return home to play in-town rival Friends on Friday (Sept. 18) at 7:30 p.m. at Wilkins Field. Live stats and video will be available for the contest.
