Five Jets Score in 6-0 Victory Over Dallas Christian

WICHITA – The Newman men's soccer team scored six goals by five different Jets in a 6-0 victory over Dallas Christian College on Monday (Sept. 28) at Wilkins Field. With the win, the Jets moved to 3-4-1 on the season.
 
Pedro Augusto opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a shot that went in to the bottom left corner off a low cross from Luca Anelli.
 
The lead increased to 2-0 in the 31st minute as John Senseman headed in a corner kick from Kieran Laking.
 
The Jets weren't done with the scoring in the first half. Dominic Nwagwu scored his team-high fourth goal of the season in the 35th minute. He knocked in a cross that hit the right post and went in. Richard Wincer sent in the cross and got the assist. NU held a 3-0 advantage after the first period.
 
In the second half, the Jets added three more tallies. Senseman used another header to get his second goal of the game. He knocked in a free kick from Victor Rojas in the 59th minute.
 
The edge increased to 5-0 on a Luca Anelli goal. He scored in the 83rd minute on a shot to the near bottom left corner after a through ball from Augusto, who got the assist. The final NU tally came in the 90th minute as Lucas Hanson scored. The goal was set up by a back heel through ball from Anelli.
 
Senseman finished with two goals. Anelli scored and added two assists.
 
Calum Dillon started in goal, making four saves. Kyle Eno played the final 9 minutes. The two combined for the complete game shutout win.
 
NU finished with 29 shots, including 19 on goal. DCC totaled seven shots with four on goal.
 
The Jets take to the road for their final nonconference road game. NU plays at Southern Nazarene on Friday (Oct. 2) at 7:30 p.m. in Bethany, Okla.
